Morris the Mixed Breed

Look at this lovely scruffy boy (lurcher terrier mix we think) ! At approx only 5 months old, poor Morris hasn’t much faith in humans. We think that in his short life he has not been socialised, walked, properly fed or even shown much love or affection. He is not sure now, who he should trust or what the world has in store for him. He thinks every shout or admonishment is directed at him. Thankfully we have him in foster now where he can learn how to trust and be cherished as part of a family. He’s a good boy. Very curious about the world and very attentive to the other dogs and people in his foster home. He is also extremely handsome and will grow into a very beautiful dog. We are looking for an adoptive home for Morris so that he can settle for the rest of his life with a family who adores him. He is a true rescue dog, so potential adopters must be in for the long haul. He is a work in progress so anyone looking for a ready made pet, need not apply. Morris needs someone at home most of the time as he stresses when alone. He will sleep at your feet all day when you are there. He is jumpy and excitable and gets barky when stressed. In the right home, all these issues can be resolved. He is learning to sleep indoors, to walk on a lead, to be around people and other dogs. He is getting there but is scared. He needs patience and time. He also requires an enclosed garden, another calm dog, and a family who have faith in who he can be. There is no aggression nor is he even nippy, but children over 8 who understand dogs are appropriate in his case.
