Moby the Water Spaniel

Moby is 7 years old . He is very good with kids and 99.9% of other dogs – very, very occasionally he reacts badly but he calms down quickly.  Often it is said to me by other owners that normally their dog wouldn’t let another dog near but make an exception for him. For example a lady I used to meet at the park had an older, blind bitch and Moby was the only dog she would allow close. There are many other similar examples. Unfortunately, about 3 years ago, when he was waiting for me outside a shop – a car drove past and threw a large firework at him so as a result he is exceedingly nervous around fireworks. He doesn’t like fires that snap & crackle but I have introduced him to Turf fires and he is fine.

He needs a strong arm to walk him on a lead to the park – he could do with more training to sit before he crosses the road –  fantastic off the lead in parks and beaches and super friendly to everyone – comes immediately when called – walking back on the lead he is fine again as he has worn off a bit of energy. He does like to chase cats though. He loves to fetch  ball  or stick and drops it pretty much on command. When feeding him he waits patiently till his bowl is ready before he begins eating makes for a much less hectic meal time. He tends to eat when we eat.

In short he responds well to a few commands like “sit” and “come” – “on your mat” and “into bed.” He is well  house trained. He’s had to spend a lot of time on his own when I was at work and he is best left in the house with the radio on. He sleeps most of the time.  He has always slept in the house and loves a comfy bed.

Moby will make a wonderful family pet and is looking for a home where he wont be left alone all day.
