Ken the German Shepherd

This hunk of a dog had a fantastic Christmas with his foster family but we are homing the new year brings him luck in finding his match – Ken is in foster care with our family for a few weeks now, he is an absolute dote! His photos do not do his size justice, this boy is a big cuddly ball of loveliness
🙂 He loves nothing more than to wander through the woods, fields or beach offlead .. he is a bit of a puller on lead, so a strong arm is needed. The sitting room sofa is Kens favourite place to hang out and sleep at night, keeping a watchful eye for visitors. He is great with all dogs, but I do think he would be happy being an only dog or in a house with another big dog. He’s not very keen on dog food .. much prefers human food but we are persevering to amend this as it is much better for him to eat dry kibble to keep his dental hygiene in check. Cats are an absolute no, no for this boy. If Ken ends up in a house with children he would be happier if the kids were at least five years of age and over. Older kids, with a knowledge of how to carry on correctly around a dog his size is preferable. He can open doors inwards and outwards, clever boy! A spacious home in the countryside with a large garden for him to lounge around is what would ideally suit Ken, our house is a standard sized 3-bed two storey and it’s just not big enough for him. Typical to his breed he does not like to be left alone for too long, so a home where he will have company for most of the day or where someone can take him along with them to work (like I do) would be perfect!
