Buddy the Jack Russell Terrier

This is Buddy. He is probably around 7 years old and was found straying. He is a plucky Jack Russell with poor sight. This is due to a congenital condition . He is otherwise healthy, his eyes give him no bother and they need no medication. The vet describes the condition– as ‘if he is looking at things with a low pixel camera’. He gets around perfectly well, he is cautious and does not get himself into trouble.

He has a great temperament, loves company and is friendly towards other dogs. He is game to accompany you on your adventures. He is great on the lead and loves travelling in the car. He is happy to stay alone at home or in the car and also to be picked up and carried around. He is remarkably silent – not at all yappy. He has a determined streak – so if he wants to sniff, he is going to sniff, if he wants to get up to you in your bed – that’s probably what is going to happen! He is house trained – you will need to help him find his toileting area and bring him regularly until he can find it himself.

He would be suitable around dog aware older children. He is not suitable to be around younger children as their approaches would be too unpredictable. His sight makes him easier to manage in some respects – you would just need to remember to introduce him to new people and places, so he feels comfortable and knows he is not under threat.

He is a lovely natured little fella. His favorite place…cuddling up beside you on the couch or lying at your feet. He’s gentle and very obedient.

Buddy has gone to his forever home!
