Bobby and Molly the Springers

This beautiful bonded pair were surrendered recently after their disabilities made them surplus to requirements. They are litter mates, who have lived together in a shed for four years, with minimal vet care or handling. Over the past year the little boy, Bobby slowly and gradually lost his sight and started injuring himself on his walks. His sister Molly, a tiny little spaniel, lost her front leg in an accident on a walk. So, ultimately this beautiful, but disabled pair were no longer required for the job they were bred for. In DAWG, we feel every dog deserves a second, or third chance, at life. We believe every single soul we rescue has a perfect home out there, regardless of their breed, looks or abilities. We are certain that the perfect home exists for this quirky little pair. Bobby’s blindness is a genetic disease called Progressive Retinal Atrophy. It is gradual, and incurable, but painless. In the short time we have this pair, it is clear that little Molly acts as Bobby’s guide dog and that Bobby looks out for Molly on his walks. They are not long with us so there is work to be done to assess them and to build up their confidence and weight but if there was a home out there, waiting for a beautiful pair of springer spaniels, with brains and looks to burn, please get in touch.
