Bertie the Pug x

Meet Bertie the pug x pup. Please read his homing criteria carefully – This is little Bertie. He is approximately 18 weeks old. Unfortunately Bertie was the only live puppy born from a litter and was subsequently rejected by his mom. This has meant that Bertie has missed out on some crucial developmental learning from both his siblings and his mom. Its important for Bertie that he is homed with another dog. He has come a long way with his fosterer and his furry foster family, but it will be part of the conditions of rehoming that an assessment and plan be put in place with the adopter by our behaviorist in order for Bertie to be the best version of himself going forward.

Bertie has some issues with impulse control and needs to be placed in a home with children in their teens. Young children and Bertie would be too much for each other unfortunately. Toilet training is still in the learning and some patience will be needed here due to his early experience.

Saying all that, Bertie is a ball of fun and cute as a button. He plays enthusiastically so will need a dog that enjoys some bouncy play time, but is also able to relax and have downtime.

Bertie would suit an adult only home or a home with older children. He will need an indoor home and an enclosed outdoor area.
