Allie the Hound

Allie is a 3-year-old female foxhound. She is a little timid at first when meeting new people but quickly become very attached and loves nothing more than a good back scratch. She is very placid and happy on the lead but cannot be off-lead as her instinct is to hunt and she will not recall. She loves long walks in the outdoors with plenty of time to sniff and explore. She is happy to go on runs also but is still a little inclined to stop dead if she gets an interesting scent. Allie will need an enclosed garden, if there is space to run, that would be fantastic. She loves chasing tennis balls, but isn’t interested in returning them! So many tennis balls hit in succession around the garden is the key! If there isn’t space to run, then walks/stimulation will be key. She is treat-focused and so easy to train in relation to socialising/behaviour. (She actively approaches dogs for a sniff and a tail wag, enjoying a little treat as a reward!) She adores company, particularly of another calm dog who won’t challenge her but will give her a sense of safety and companionship. Given her preference for calm, she would be suited to an adult household or children over 12.
