Winnie the Jack Russell
This is Winnie, our foster dog. She’s a very small, middle-aged Jack Russell who came to us in a pitiful state. She was very underweight, filthy, and had just had an emergency caesarean to try to save her litter of puppies – they all unfortunately died. She also had a shattered hip and had obviously been abused – she was very nervous and scared.
However, within a few days she became my little shadow – she follows me everywhere and runs about with excitement when I come into the room. She loves nothing more than to be cuddled – she will sit very still and gaze into my eyes while I stroke and talk to her.
She has very good house manners – she is toilet-trained and never chews or barks. She is still a bit nervous of men but will approach them and allow herself to be rubbed if they are gentle. She is very good with other dogs – she doesn’t pay strange dogs much attention but will happily play and cuddle with our own dog.
Her hip has been operated on but she can still only go for short walks – this will build up in time.
She is such a good and sweet little thing – she really needs a home where she will be given lots of attention – she deserves it after the life she has had.
