Duchess the German Shepherd

Duchess is a beautiful, mature, spayed female German Shepherd. She’s a mellow and easy-going lounger indoors, absolutely no trouble at all, but as soon as you say ‘Dutchie, WALK?” she’s up and wiggling, chatting happily. She sits politely to be leashed, tail thumping against the front door and excitedly waiting for the adventure to begin. She’s a gentle soul in great health who has plenty of petrol left in the tank, and she loves to walk in parks and fields and play chase.

Duchess is being re-homed because unfortunately, after 10 years together her owner passed away at Christmas. Duchess is a credit to the woman who raised her, and has excellent manners. She is perfectly house trained, sleeps soundly through the night, walks beautifully on a lead, has excellent recall, asks to go out the back door when needed, never begs, and doesn’t even try for the sofa!

Duchess needs a forever home where she can continue her weight loss diet of senior food and her exercise regimen of two good walks daily, as she’s currently a bit tubby and slimming will alleviate the strain on her hips. She would benefit from an enclosed garden large enough for a good thorough sniff.  She’s a  great dog to take to the office, but will hang out quietly at home, sleeping the work day away.

Due to the fact she’s always been the only dog in the house and is not a fan of small dogs, Dutchie needs a forever home where she is the reigning canine queen. This is a superlative dog who will make an unbeatable companion for a very lucky new owner.

Duchess has gone to her forever home!
