Brian the Lurcher
Brians epeleptic fits are now under control with medication. He hasnt had a fit since he started them –
Brian wouldn’t suit children as he is sensitive in spots and a child might rub him in the wrong place. Adults will learn very fast where he is sensitive which is mostly around his neck. He will leave out a little shriek and would frighten kids and distress himself.
He is great on the lead but forgets himself and does get excited and tries to run to things he sees, birds, dogs etc! He wouldn’t be great with recall at the moment! at home he will come back to the door when called mostly but out for a walk he has a tendency to wander off and follow anybody that walks in front of him who seems interesting! He’s gas! but that could totally be worked on.
He is a serious lounger who loves his sleep. He is simply a very easy dog. We are getting over him being afraid of getting in cars, he will get in the back seat but hates to get through the boot, he’s grand getting into vans, cars take a little patience but once in he is fine.
He can be quite playful and likes the beach though not too fussed about the sea itself. Good with other dogs, very placid with them and wants to play when outside with them. He quite likes little terriers for some reason but is more intimidated by larger bouncier dogs. Would be good for a house with another dog possibly who is not too big or giddy. I think he would benefit from the company, they seem to bring him out of himself.
He is good with me putting my hand in his food bowl, gentle out, he takes his medicine no problem, he is very quiet and calm in the house. Can be a little fickle with food. he will play in the garden with you running about.
I think with lots of TLC he could be an amazing pet for someone.
We would love that perfect home for Brian. He has had a tough start. But now that we have recognised his issues and addressed them, he is becoming who he should be. A very loving, playful, and of course lazy lurcher boy.
Brian has gone to his forever home!
