WELCOME TO CORK DOG ACTION WELFARE GROUP

Cork DAWG is an organisation founded and run mostly by a network of volunteers concerned with the welfare of abandoned, abused and ill-treated dogs in Cork.
Through our collective experience we aim to improve the lives of Cork's dogs and also endeavour to educate the public on dog welfare and dog ownership.

To do this, we need your help....

NEWSFLASH - 1000 dogs rescued in 2012!!!!

We would like to say a special thanks to Victoria Mallon who has offered to paint watercolours of your dog or cat with all proceeds going to Cork DAWG. If you would like to order an A4 watercolour please drop in or send a clear photo (or clear printout) of your pet to the Midleton DAWG, charity shop, Main Street Midleton with the money inside the envelope (cheque is safer). The cost of the watercolours are 25 Euro each which we all agree is very reasonable. If you would like a watercolour made in memory of a pet who has passed please send the date of birth and passing if possible and those dates will be included at the bottom. For any more details contact Jill at 0876441967

PLEASE HELP US HELP OUR LURCHERS AND GREYHOUNDS!

We have seen a huge number of greyhounds & lurchers coming into us over the last few weeks. Most of these have been badly abused and need veterinary care. Please help us continue to help these gentle dogs.
Below is a video of just some of the ones we have got in recently. If you would like to donate please visit our website www.dogactionwelfaregroup.ie
We would like to thank to Parallel for the use of their song & Christine for compiling this video.

Please consider a wonderful greyhound as a pet. Handsome gentle Jacob came into us in a terrible way. Extremely thin and terrified of people. He became extremely depressed at the shelter and refused to even come out for walk time. We knew the only thing that would save Jacob was to get him to a foster home. He is now loving life and thriving with Caroline and her two terriers. He is very good with the other dogs, housetrained and loves his walks. He has excellent recall and snoozes the rest of the day on the couch or in his basket watching the world go by. We cannot say enough good things about this very easy gentle boy. Please contact Jane on 0871199977 .

Appeal for good quality winter clothes for our Charity shops in Midleton and Mallow as we are running low on stock. Please contact Jill on 0876441967. Please note we are not covered to take electrical goods in the shop. Thank you.

Please help DAWG in its " 5 to survive " campaign.

We are experiencing very tough times at DAWG and we desperately need to increase our income to enable us to continue to rescue and rehome the so many dogs that need our help.

We are calling on all our supporters to help us in our " 5 to survive campaign".
We are asking for 5 minutes of your time to complete a standing order of 5 Euro a month and help us achieve our target of 500 new standing orders. This money will go directly to help the dogs that need it and it will enable us to continue our work. Our target will be posted on our website and will be updated weekly. In return for signing up DAWG will send each new member a thank you pack including your very own DAWG postcard, keyring and magnet.
Please help us achieve our goal and reach our target. Once we reach our target ALL our standing order supporters will be entered into a draw. More details on the draw will follow. Also for those of our supporters who already have a standing order with DAWG, please email and we will forward you our thank you pack.
The dogs of Cork need us so we cannot let them down. THANK YOU.
