Educating our youth of today is vital

DAWG were contacted by Mari McCarthy, a teacher from Maria Immaculata Community College in Dunmanway with a view to giving a talk to a group of third year students.  These students expressed an interest in animal welfare and wanted to hear how a charity like CORK DAWG operates.  The visit was scheduled for Tuesday 8th April at 2pm, and Carole one of the DAWG team went to visit with her dog Leah (who was adopted from DAWG some years ago). Leah was an instant hit and it didn’t take her long to greet every student in the room.

The talk went really well and the students were incredibly interested and asked some very pertinent questions at the end.  These same students also did some fundraising for dawg, they all chipped in and bought a large Easter Egg which they raffled off and raised the fantastic sum of €175.  Both myself and Leah enjoyed ourselves and hope to visit again soon. Thanks so much students of Maria Immaculata Community College!!
